Declan Lynch, Managing Director – Audit and Advisory
B.Comm., F.C.A., Dip. Corp. Fin.
Declan is the founding member and managing director of WENTWORTH. A professional accountant with strong business acumen, Declan is responsible for audit and advisory for our corporate client base, specialising in their international operations. He directs our technological and manufacturing clients on R&D issues including R&D tax credits, grants and patents.
Declan specialises in working with emerging companies. Declan has guided a number of high profile start-up companies from the incubation stage, through early stage funding and on to successful commercialisation of technologies and ideas.
Declan has extensive experience in corporate finance having been involved in numerous large scale corporate restructuring exercises, corporate cash extraction schemes, M&A transactions and the preparation of business plans for bank funding, joint ventures, grants and mezzanine finance deals. Declan has significant experience in project funding and the restructuring of existing finance facilities. A graduate of University College Cork, Declan began his career as a chartered accountant in 1996 and became a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland in 2011.
Daniel Buckley, Accounts and Taxation Manager

Daniel Buckley has 10 years of experience working in a practice environment. Daniel is responsible for the day to day management and execution of accounts preparation and the provision of taxation services in WENTWORTH for a portfolio of clients.
Daniel has vast experience in dealing with a variety of different clients and needs and is responsible for the management of the provision of a full suite of practice services to a diverse portfolio, which includes businesses operating in the construction, pharmaceutical, retail, manufacturing, property rental and non-profit organisations. Daniel has experience in dealing with all of the tax heads and brings a wealth of experience to the firm.
Daniel is a graduate of Cork Institute of Technology and holds an honours Bachelor of Business in Accounting degree. Daniel began his career as a certified chartered accountant in 2008 and became a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants in 2011.
Stephen Sheehan, Audit Manager
BBus Acc, MIMA MBS, ACA
Stephen Sheehan has 6 years of experience working in a practice environment. Stephen’s primary focus is on Audit engagements in WENTWORTH.
Stephen has experience in dealing with all of the tax heads and company compliance procedures and brings a wealth of experience to the Audit team.
He has gained extensive experience in the Corporate Restructuring market, in particular Receiverships, Liquidations and Independent Business Reviews, having completed his training in a Big4 Corporate Finance team.
Stephen is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and holds a Masters in Management Information and Management Accounting from University College Cork, along with a Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Accounting from Cork Institute of Technology.
Brendan Lynch, Consultant – Advisory
Brendan has over 25 years’ e xperience in senior executive roles in Irish and international private and PLC organisations. His particular expertise lies in the telecoms and IT industries. He has served as Managing Director- Technology with Eircom, COO with Meteor Mobile Communications and Vice-President of IT & Networks with Orange UK.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Advisory department and has expert knowledge of efficient and profitable enterprise operations. Brendan has managed a number of major organisational change programs. Brendan has a unique ability of being able to bring different branches or departments of an organisation together with a view to realising synergies and efficiencies. Brendan advises clients on corporate governance issues, strategies for growth and change formation.
He is an Engineering graduate of University College Cork and holds a Masters in Electronic and Computer Engineering.
Caroline Carden, Financial Controller
Caroline is the financial controller at WENTWORTH. She is responsible for the preparation of financial statements for a diverse range of clients across a range of industries, including construction, manufacturing, retail, food & agricultural, and professional services such as medical consultants, solicitors and auctioneers. Caroline provides bookkeeping, payroll and other support services internally and on behalf of a portfolio of clients.
Caroline has more than 20 years’ experience in financial / accounting related roles which included accounting, audit, taxation, trust administrator and financial controller.
